League Cup Competition Rules 2023–2024
- The cup competition will take place on a single evening and all the villages competing in the league will be invited to take part.
- Each village will be entitled to field a team of up to six members.
- Teams will sit at separate tables and may collaborate to produce written answers to the questions.
- The quiz will consist of ten rounds, including a half-time challenge, asked by a questionmaster.
- Teams should attempt to answer all the questions (there will be no 'directed' questions).
- One minute will be allowed at the end of each round for any repeats/clarifications and for completing answers.
- Answers will be given by the questionmaster at the end of each round. Completed question papers must be marked by a different team.
- Accumulated scores will be updated between rounds.
- There will be a break of about 15 minutes after round five.
- The questionmaster's decision will be final in any disputes.
- The team with the highest score at the end of the quiz will be awarded the Bill Slade Cup.
- In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a tie-break question.
